Streetz Artz Alliance Brings a Cultural Artisan Showcase to Soundgrowler This Saturday
Tinley Park has become a familiar home for Streetz Artz Alliance events, and this Saturday, May 2, the community is invited back for something especially vibrant. From 12 PM to 5 PM, over 40 artists and makers will transform Soundgrowler Brewing Co. (8201 183rd St., Suite P) into a lively indoor and outdoor marketplace celebrating culture, creativity, and craftsmanship. Guests can sip craft beer (including non-alcoholic options), enjoy tacos and more from the kitchen, and explore a thoughtfully curated lineup of artists—each bringing their own story and style to the event. Admission is free, the event is family-friendly, and there’s plenty of parking available on-site and nearby.

What makes this market stand out isn’t just the variety—it’s the intention behind it. Many of the artists are creating work inspired by heritage, identity, and personal experience, making this a meaningful way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo through art and community. From handcrafted goods to original artwork, every booth offers something unique—and often, something deeply personal.
“La Rosa Escobedo,” a Mexican American artist from Chicago, is one of several featured creatives bringing culturally inspired work to the event. Their table will showcase original pieces, including Día de los Muertos and Frida Kahlo-inspired art, reflecting both tradition and contemporary expression. It’s just one example of how this event highlights artists who are not only selling their work, but sharing pieces of their story.
Another featured artist, Libra Rising by Yoali, blends sustainability and style through handcrafted jewelry made from cork, leather, wood, and metal. Each piece is individually cut and designed to be lightweight, versatile, and wearable for any occasion—proof that thoughtful design and everyday function can go hand in hand.
At Chica Construction Crafts, culture and craft meet through intricate paper art. From layered sugar skulls and dancing skeleton lanterns to handmade cards and resin-finished coasters, each piece celebrates tradition while offering something creative and accessible for all.

Fans of bold, original artwork will want to stop by KEEBS Designs, where Toni Reyes creates everything from miniature framed gothic art to larger canvas pieces and waterproof stickers. “All are one of a kind,” Reyes shared, inviting guests to find something truly unique to take home.
Textile art also takes center stage with Crochet by Rose, featuring handmade amigurumi-style dolls, including Frida Kahlo figures and sugar skull designs, alongside Mexican-inspired shadow boxes. These detailed, handcrafted pieces bring a soft, artistic interpretation to cultural icons.
For those drawn to greenery, both Rooted in Chicago and Leaf Vine Node offer distinct botanical experiences. Rooted in Chicago focuses on approachable, vibrant houseplants perfect for any home, while Leaf Vine Node leans into rare and unusual specimens with a darker, apothecary-inspired aesthetic—ideal for collectors or anyone looking for something a little different.
The event also embraces the beautifully unconventional with artists like Memento Moira, whose mixed media work pulls from themes of history, folklore, and found objects, with special attention to Latin-inspired motifs for this market. Meanwhile, Yvette Sketches blends the mystical and natural worlds through original paintings and crystal-wrapped jewelry designed to connect art with personal meaning.

If you’re looking for something interactive or playful, Cubed Dimensions Printing brings 3D-printed creations to life with colorful fidget clickers, magnets, and expressive art pieces designed to spark joy. And for something a little sweeter, Lulu’s Sweet Treat Shoppe will be offering a wide array of desserts, including themed treats like churro cheesecakes, concha cupcakes, flan, and chocolate-covered strawberries—with options for a variety of dietary needs.
Rounding out the featured artists is Daisy.Brand.Arts, known for dual-language coloring books and photography postcards, offering creative pieces that are both fun and accessible for all ages.
According to event organizer John Streetz, the goal is to create an experience that feels both welcoming and memorable. “We’ve brought together an incredible mix of artists for this one,” he said. “There’s a strong cultural presence paired with many of our favorite returning vendors, so whether you’re coming for the art, the food, or just to spend time with the community, there’s something here for everyone.”
