Dark Arts, Oddities, Tacos & More come to Tinley Park Saturday 10/3!
Tinley Park, get ready for one of the strangest, most creative and downright fun markets of the year.
The Dark Arts & Oddities Market returns to Soundgrowler Brewing Co. this Saturday, October 3, from 12pm to 5pm, and this year's event may be the biggest and most exciting version yet.
Hosted by Soundgrowler Brewing at 8201 183rd St., Suite P, and curated by Streetz Artz Alliance, the free, family-friendly event will feature more than 50 artists, makers and small businesses spread throughout the Soundgrowler property. The market will fill the barrel room, continue through the brewery taproom and spill outside into the beer garden.
And yes, there's plenty of parking on site. Additional parking is available in the large lot immediately east of the Soundgrowler property. We'll have a photo showing the additional parking area so you know exactly where to go.

The weather is looking almost perfect for a Saturday market, with sunny skies, a high near 68 degrees, southeast winds around 7 mph and a 0% chance of rain. In other words, this is a pretty good day to come out, grab a beer, shop local and embrace the weird.
Come for the oddities. Stay for everything else.
If oddities are specifically what you're hunting for, there's one important thing to know: get there before 4pm.
Two of our featured oddities artists, Art by Andee Dandee and Sealed Fate Curiosities, will need to leave approximately an hour early. The other 50+ artists will remain at the market until 5pm.
And there is a LOT to explore.

Expect original art, horror-inspired pieces, oddities, dark décor, jewelry, tarot, collectibles, handcrafted goods, candles, crochet, 3D printing, apparel, Perler bead art, plant sellers, coffee, honey, cookies, laser-etched creations and plenty of unexpected finds.
This isn't just a horror market. It's a true Streetz Artz Alliance curated market, which means there will be something for just about everyone.
Don't sleep on Brenda's cookies
Brenda from Masterclass Savory Sweet Foods, one of our longtime Streetz Artz Alliance favorites, just announced her cookie mix for Saturday.

The menu includes Chocolate Chocolate, Snickerdoodle White Chocolate, Boofetti Butter, Caramel Chocolate Coconut, Chocolate Walnut, Peanut Butter Reese's, Oatmeal Cranberry, Ginger Spice and the brand-new Cracked Pepper Cashews.
If you've been to one of our events before, you already know the warning: Brenda sells out.
Her biggest fans know to get there early, and Saturday will be no exception.
Four years of getting wonderfully weird
The very first Dark Arts Market took place in October 2022. Four years later, the event has grown from a dark-art-focused market into the Dark Arts & Oddities Market, bringing together an incredible mix of artists who specialize in the strange, unusual, mysterious, macabre and simply different.
The Facebook event has now reached 2,000 interested people, making this one of the largest online responses we've seen for the event.
This year's lineup has also continued to grow since the original announcement three weeks ago, with new additions including Abearcub Wraps, Adara Selene Creations, Bryan Gregory Forsyth Art, That Girl at the Market, Gigawatt Coffee Roasters and Melanie Klegerman Fersko, Author and Artist.

Several artists will also be making their Soundgrowler debut, including Jason Michael West Art, Galaxy Skincare Company, Penguin Imprints, Welding Witch, Elaha, Death and Dopamine, Blue Casa Studios and Bryan Gregory Forsyth Art.
Meet the Featured Artist of the Month
Keith Piepenbrink is Soundgrowler's October Featured Artist of the Month, and visitors will have the opportunity to see and purchase his distinctive horror icons and pop-culture-inspired pieces during the market and throughout the month.
Keith will also be bringing some of his newest work Saturday, including his coffin-lid paintings.
"I'll be there Saturday for a bit with my latest pieces, the coffin lid paintings that are a fun addition to your haunt. AND, the Dark Arts and Oddities fair is this Saturday from noon to five. Perfect opportunity to add that special piece to make this a fun Halloween," said Piepenbrink.
Crafty Creations is bringing the spooky décor
Crafty Creations has been busy preparing for this one, creating a collection of horror-, Halloween- and dark-arts-themed shadow boxes specifically for the event.
There will be everything from horror icons and graveyard scenes to bats, pumpkins and ghouls, including several illuminated shadow boxes that should make some seriously fun additions to your spooky-season décor.

Grab a beer, grab some tacos and stay awhile
Of course, this is happening at Soundgrowler Brewing, so don't forget the other important part of the equation: beer.
The brewery will have a modified food menu for the busy day, with extra staff on hand to help keep things moving. Tacos and burritos will be available, and all food and drinks will be ordered directly from the brewery bar inside.
The beer garden will also be open with additional seating.

Pets are welcome outside in the beer garden, while only service animals are permitted indoors.
And because this is Streetz Artz Alliance, the idea is simple: come sip and shop.
Whether you're a hardcore horror fan, an oddities collector, a spooky-season enthusiast or someone who just happens to be tagging along with a friend, you're going to find something worth stopping for.
The market is free. The parking is plentiful. The weather looks fantastic. More than 50 artists are ready to show you what they've been making.
Come for the weird. Stay for the beer. And maybe take home something you absolutely didn't know you needed.
