Lockport, IL – A fresh breeze of creativity is blowing through downtown Lockport this weekend. On Saturday, April 12, from 12 PM to 6 PM, Nik & Ivy Brewing Company transforms its outdoor space into a buzzing hub of handmade art, craft beer, and community vibes as it hosts the Spring Edition of the Makers Artisan Market.

Curated by the Streetz Artz Alliance, the market will feature more than eighteen talented artists and small businesses, offering everything from original artwork and custom woodturning to gourmet cookies, pet treats, locally made spices, and jewelry. Entry is free, and the event is family-friendly—making it the perfect Saturday stop for sipping, browsing, and discovering unique creations.

“This part of downtown Lockport is full of small business charm,” said John Streetz, head of the Streetz Artz Alliance. “We’re excited to bring a curated mix of handmade artistry right into the heart of town. Sipping and shopping with us is a great way to celebrate the season.”

Makers with a Mission—and Some New Surprises

While the lineup includes returning favorites like Grandma Dan’s Cookies, Becky Blue Designs, and Canal Woodturning, this market also welcomes several new artists debuting their goods at Nik & Ivy. First-timers include The Crafty Lotus, KP’s Candy Factory, Topp Knots, Sprig & Flame, and Madison’s Korner.

“I’m looking forward to Saturday!” said Madison’s Korner. “Can’t wait to showcase my work. Please come out to this amazing show—you won’t be disappointed!”

Ghost Owl Studio, a fan-favorite at past events, will unveil a new design called *Later Skater*, featuring three expressive kittens skating toward chaos—or maybe freedom. “It’s a crowd-pleaser with a touch of mischief,” said the artist. “Definitely a design that speaks to the inner cat lover and thrill-seeker alike.”

Nearby Lockport resident Raven Feathers and Bat Wings will also bring new work to the event. Known for their layered, mixed-media compositions, they put it best: “Our work is like an onion—or an ogre—it has layers.”

Sprig & Flame is rolling out new packaging and products, including their Signature Scent Discovery Boxes and Wax Melt Sample Boxes. “Come discover where these scents will take you,” they teased. Favorites like *Calm*, *Refresh*, and *Essence* will be available in candles and melts.

Tasty Treats for Humans and Pets Alike

The market isn’t just about art—it’s also a feast for your taste buds. Mucha Salsa Mexican Restaurant will take over the brewery’s indoor kitchen with tacos, burritos, nachos, and street corn—perfect for pairing with Nik & Ivy’s ever-rotating tap list.

For the sweet tooth, Grandma Dan’s Cookies will offer six cookie flavors, pancake and cookie mixes, and homemade vanilla extract. Try the *Senator*—a peanut butter-based monster cookie with chocolate chips, M&Ms, and oats—or go for the *Zephyr*, inspired by key lime pie.

And don’t forget the pups. Tonie’s Treats is launching *Simply Nuts!*—a brand-new homemade peanut butter made from 100% roasted peanuts. “Perfect for dipping those cronchy treatos or swirling onto our Good Doggo ice cream cups,” said the team.

Big Vibes, No Big Price Tag

While this weekend also marks the return of C2E2 in Chicago, Streetz Artz Alliance emphasizes that their market offers something C2E2 can’t: free admission, affordable craft beer, and a carefully curated mix of 100% handmade goods.

“C2E2 is amazing, and several of our artists like Gigawatt Coffee and Project Good Apparel will be there,” said Streetz. “But our Lockport market is a more intimate, affordable experience focused on local talent—and there’s no $15 beer or $40 ticket at the door.”

Nik & Ivy’s event also continues into the evening with a live performance by local music favorite Robert Rolfe Feddersen starting at 7 PM. “Come for the tacos and the art fair,” said the brewery, “stay for the music and brews—it’s going to be a great night.”
