Krampus Market is returning to Blue Island this Sunday, December 7, 2025, bringing a lively blend of local art, community spirit, and seasonal mischief to Blue Island Beer Company. Presented in collaboration with the Streetz Artz Alliance, the market will run from 12 pm to 5 pm at 13357 Old Western Ave and is open to all ages at no cost.

Each year, the Krampus Market showcases artists whose work ranges from the whimsical to the wicked, drawing inspiration from the folklore figure known as Krampus. Rooted in Central and Eastern Alpine tradition, Krampus is the darker counterpart to St. Nicholas and has become a symbol of alternative holiday celebrations throughout the United States. The Blue Island event embraces this growing cultural trend through an eclectic collection of handmade goods and themed creations.

Nearly 30 artists and makers will fill the brewery’s taproom and brewhouse with a wide range of unique items, from gothic decor and fantasy art to jewelry, soft sculptures, gourmet treats, and one-of-a-kind gifts. Many participants are returning favorites, joined by new creators who have tailored pieces specifically for this year’s Krampus celebration.

Several artists will be highlighted throughout the event. CatWitch Designs brings soft sculpted dragons, unicorns, and specially crafted Tragedy Anne dolls. The Craftholes will showcase their signature upcycled vintage dishes decorated with humorous and irreverent hand-painted text. Metta Clay offers fantasy-inspired jewelry and decor including sculpted necklaces and monster-mouth plaques that appeal to fans of both artistry and oddity.

Ten Cups Tarot will once again provide tarot readings for visitors seeking insight or a spiritual connection. They will also offer their popular gift option, Tarot To Go, for shoppers looking for a meaningful present.

A major attraction of the market is the return of Jennifer Benson of Power Metal Cosplay as Krampus for the day. Benson, a professional performer and trained singer, is unveiling a brand-new Krampus look this year. Guests can find the Krampus bench and photo area in the main taproom.

Event curator John E. Streetz shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I was very happy to get a call from Alan Cromwell to do Krampus again this year, and even more excited to have Jennifer Benson back. The Krampus bench will be in the main taproom where music normally plays.”

The full lineup of participating artists includes Adara Selene Creations, Black Soul Artz, CatWitch Designs, Cin's Crafty Creations, Creep Sew Creations, Dark Fey Arts, FrankenWerks Studios, Geekbit Creations, Good Spirits Vintage, Jeannine's Jems, Jerry's Jerky, L&W Crystals, Masterclass Savory Sweet Foods, Metta Clay, Raven Feathers and Bat Wings, Reneegade Art, Serpent and Flame Candle Company, Sweet Ghoul, Ten Cups Tarot, The Craftholes, Unique Creations By Rachel, Wanna Pickle Gourmet Foods, WhistleNotes Perfumery, and Wolf Den Gaming.

Visitors can turn the day into a full Blue Island outing, with several local businesses just steps away. Retroz Pizza, Natural Law Cocktail Club and Eatery, Rock Island Public House, and El Cortez Taqueria and Tortilleria are all convenient options for food and drink before or after shopping the market.

Rock Island Public House will host its Holiday Market during the same hours, giving community members two opportunities to browse local creators and enjoy seasonal offerings in one trip. Some of the artists over at Rock Island Public House include Diver Bar Soap Co., The Classics Pomade Co., Honey Grove and Ghost Owl Studio.

Jerry’s Jerky will also be on-site at Blue Island Beer Company offering their popular jerky selections.

Krampus Market continues to be a cornerstone event for the winter season, celebrating creativity and supporting local artists, small businesses, and the Blue Island community. Visitors are encouraged to RSVP and share the event to help spread the word.
